Tag Questions – Eklenti Soruları

Tag questions Türkçe’de “değil mi?” / “tamam mı?” olarak kullandığımız ifadelerdir. İngilizce de bu ifadeyi cümlenin zamanına uygun yardımcı fillinin soru haline dönüştürerek yaparız. Cümle olumsuzsa question tag olumlu, cümle olumluysa question tag olumsuz olur.

Aynen Türkçe’deki gibi kibarlık ya da ima anlamı verebilirler ya da sadece vurgu ya da onay için kullanılabilirler.

1. She doesn't really want that, does she?

2. She likes sugar very much, doesn’t she?

3. It's quite an achievement, isn't it, to win a Nobel prize! (Nobel ödülü kazanmak iyi bir başarı değil mi! )

4. He has read this book, hasn't he?

5. He went there, didn't he?

6. He'll read this book, won't he?

7. She should visit your friend in the hospital, shouldn’t she?

8. She is French, isn't she?

9. She isn’t French, is she?

10. He doesn't know what he's doing, does he?

11. I just adore Beethoven, don't you? (Beethoven’a bayılıyorum, ya sen?)

Emir cümlelerinde:

1. Open the door, will you?

2. Do listen! Will you?

“Let’s” öneri cümlelerinde:

1. Let’s go somewhere else, shall we?

2. Let's have a beer, shall we?

Günlük konuşmada bazen şu kullanımları da vardır:

1. I'm coming with you, all right?

2. You've been there, right?
